Another stage of life 😁
Hey people, I'm back after two years! It's really been a while since I last posted and updated my blog. I just realized I once have a blog here last night when I was chilling in my room (p.s. doing nothing).
The last post is about my graduation in 6th form at SMK Batu Lintang. My STPM results wasn't that bad, but that kind of result just like hanging me somewhere between the best choices and the worst choices. Worth to mention that I have put two careers that I want to pursue, firstly is architecture, followed by veterinary medicine. I know these two are really contradicting, but one is like my dream since young when I just keep drawing random houses in random sketchbook; while another one is something I wanted to do to protect the animals I have always loved, and I truly thinks that animals deserve good healthcare like us as well and I want to be part of this vision.
Okay, dream stay as dream, forever.
I went to both interviews for the enrollment process. I drawn a sketch of "my dream house at the hillside" (and I just wanna hide myself because others draw much better than mine stupid elementary school artwork); I told the panel I'm not scared of blood, and my passion towards animals (and the panel said I looked fashion just like an architect, what?!).
I pray hard, with micrometers glimpse of hope and faith, of course, I didn't get it. Thanks USM and UMK. *roll eyes, whatever*
What I get is a course which I can't even remember that I have put it into my 12 choices list. Weird. For the sake of giving me the 7th choice of my list + it's a "not bad" university + a career that is fine to me + I have no other choices, therefore, I packed my luggage, left home and family with my dogs and the environment which I'm so comfortable with, to another piece of land called Johor Bahru (to be precised, Skudai)
Seriously, Industrial Biology?
I'm quite confused with the name of my course, it is Industrial Biology, and I believed by recognizing the name, it is only UTM who offer this course. So, at the beginning, isn't it all about biotechnology? Since it is clearly stated "INDUSTRIAL", I expect myself will gonna work at factory in the future. Biology with factories, that's my idea, and it sounds kinda cool to me. For the definite definition of this course, I'm afraid I still can't find an answer for that.
Basically, I'm working with small living stuff or not. But the idea is "small"
I have been in this course for 1 year, like 2 semesters. I can summarize what I have studied is that it is all about living things (duh, is Biology) and it's components. However, the living things I refer here is small small tiny little organisms like microbes, bacteria, virus, bacteriophage, fungus, yeast and you-can-name-it small organism which you can't see with your naked eyes. We are playing a lot with DNAs as well together with enzymes and proteins, and I know they are all kinda abstract thingy.
It's still quite fun, so far?
The syllabus isn't very packed, and our schedule is kinda flexible, and somehow we still have some time for us to explore more in this university. I met a lot of friends, full of diversity, and really enjoy interacting and knowing new people around. Sometimes I'm just too busy with something that I have forgotten to call back home, but I still manage to contact with my mum twice a week just to catch up with things happening back home.
I will share more about how fascinating my university life (so far?) with me stepping out a lot to try out things I never have done before.
Have a nice day ahead!
